WE HAVE A HOUSE!!

The closing yesterday went smoothly. We signed a bunch a paper and that was that. After getting the keys to our new house, we drove over right away to check it out. Of course, we had seen the completed house several times before, but now the house was ours and it looked much better than before. After spending a bit of time in our new house, but the emptiness started to get to us, so we headed out to do some new house shopping. First, we went to 3 day blinds were we found a design consultant who will come out to our house and help us pick out everything we need for blinds, such as style, color, and functionality. Next, we went to Lowe’s to look at paint. We grabbed many paint samples for the mater bedroom, April’s room, and the living room. We are going to paint as soon as possible because I cannot stand the starkness of all the white. Lastly, we went to American Furniture where our lovely new couch awaits us. For Christmas Chad’s mom and step dad gave us a gift card, so we could by a new couch and we know exactly which one we want. Before we actually buy the couch we have to decide exactly where we want to put it; the couch is “L” shaped and depending on where the couch goes in the room, will determine if we get a right- angled couch or a left- angled couch. Although we did not actually buy anything that whole afternoon, we were shopped out so, to celebrate our new house we decided to go to dinner. We tried to go to the Olive Garden, but the wait was 40 minutes and I was starving, so we settle for Applebee’s instead, where we didn’t have to wait at all.

The next few days are going to be hectic. Here is the run down…

Tonight (Thursday), we are going over to Chad’s, dad’s house for Christmas.

Friday evening, we are going to show April the house. She has not seen the inside yet, because children were not allowed in during construction.

Saturday evening, we are going over to Aunt Mimi’s house to have Christmas with them and celebrate my Cousin D.J.’s birthday!

Sunday morning…Santa comes and Chad, April and I open our gifts to one another. April’s biological father will pick her up around 8:30 or 9:00 and take her to celebrate Christmas at his house and Chad and I will drive to mom and dads to celebrate with them. April will arrive at mom and dad’s house around 10:30. Later that evening, Chad, April and I will drive to Ft Collins to visit with the extended family on his dad’s side.

Monday, we will make the big packing push.

Tuesday, we move, and will need everyone help…call me if you are available…PLEASE!!

Almost Finished

Our final walk through is in 10 days. We have cabinets and hard wood floors. Left are the countertops, carpet, and light fixtures.
