Credit Approved

“CONGRATULATIONS! We are pleased to inform you that your mortgage loan for your new DR Horton a Melody Series home has been CREDIT APPROVED.”

Sincerely,
DHI MORTAGE COMPANY

I am not sure if that means we have a loan, or if our credit is approved to get a loan. Either way, it is good news.

The Ground Is Moving

Finally, the ground is moving and we have a hole. We have a clearly dug basement ready and waiting for cement, which will happen in the next few days. I wanted to take a picture of the hole, but the entire street was blocked with huge cement trucks. Using the zoom on my camera, I was able to get a good picture of the cement truck from a block away. Although it is not our house the truck is working on, it is an interesting site. I will try to get a better picture tonight after the workers go home and the street clears. Not quite a foundation yet, but it is a start.

Although the house has yet to break ground, I think things are getting close to start. Here are the latest pictures of the land. Also, make sure to add this page to your favorites, so you can visit again for updates. Lastly don't forget to check out the links to the right; I update the wish list frequently.

I am getting antsy

I am getting antsy about the house. It is still a big pile of dirt and we signed papers three weeks ago. I sent an email to DR Horton and here is the response.

It has been three weeks since we contracted on a house, but haven’t heard anything about the construction of the house. Can you give us an update on when construction will begin?

Hello Jennifer and Chad,

Your new home is still at "dirt" and is at stage #1.....Permit. There are 12 stages.....

Your new home's foundation could start at any time!.....probably within a couple of weeks.

You are welcome to drive by your home site at any time (please don't get out tho).....and once it is fully framed, we can take you out there if you call us for an appointment (Monday-Friday).....we will need to wear hard hats, of course and no one under the age of 18 is allowed on site.

Please do not hesitate to call or email us at any time. Once the framing starts it will go really fast!

Thanks!

Design Center

Chad and I went to our second meeting at the design center. We have picked out everything from floor to ceiling. The only thing left to do is sign off on all the things we picked out, but that won’t happen until next week. Chad went a little over budget with the Silestone countertop and stainless steel kitchen appliances, but I think it will be worth it.

Revival

I can’t believe my last blog entry was in April. I have neglected the poor thing for so long, I almost forgot about it. Ninety percent of blogs are now orphaned and I am not going let Spastic Master become one of those statistics. I am here to revive Spastic Masters for the sole purpose of keeping everyone informed about our new house.

After months and months of looking Chad and I have found a house. We contracted on in two weeks ago. The house is around 128th and Holly, which is about one mile East of Colorado BLVD. It is a brand new house and will take 3-5 months to build. Check out the floor plan. We have had one appointment at the design center and have another one tomorrow. The build has yet to get started, but I suspect things will start soon.

Chad and I bought two new pieces of furniture for our new house. The first is a dinning room table with eight chairs. Second, to accent the table, Chad bought me a metal palm tree. I know it sounds funky, but trust me it will look swanky in our brand new house. The next thing to buy is a couch. As soon as we save a little more cash we plan to buy this one.

Much more to come, so keep checking in. Comments are fun to read so leave many.
